The UK will send more Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine.

Despite the fact that the UK announced plans to transfer only 14 Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine, it became known that the deliveries provide for a multiple increase in combat vehicles of this type sent to Ukraine. Challenger 2 tanks will be sent to Ukraine in the event that the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffer losses from among these combat vehicles in battle, as London believes that the simultaneous supply of a large number of tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces may lead to the fact that the Russian military may capture some of them.

At the moment, it is known that the first batch of Challenger 2 tanks should arrive in Ukraine in March, and if the latter prove themselves successfully, but there will be losses among them, London will be ready to organize the supply of additional combat vehicles, especially since Ukrainian crews have already been trained in numbers sufficient to manage a battalion of such combat vehicles.

According to various estimates, only taking into account the promised supply of tanks from the beginning of this year, Kyiv will receive over 400 combat vehicles from the West. At the same time, deliveries are additionally growing, as Sweden intends to send its tanks to Ukraine, and the day before, Germany decided to increase the supply of tanks to Ukraine by another 4 units.
